History

ResearchCenter is one of the leading online market research and data collection firms in Hungary. Since its foundation our main goal is to make online market research as a research tool available to everyone. We wish to achieve this mainly by being a strategic partner of the market research companies both in Hungary and abroad, and by supporting our clients' business decisions by reliable and credible research data.

Since 2003 ResearchCenter is conducting online research and data collection under the aegis of Hírek Media and Internet Technology Ltd., one of the leading service providers on the Hungarian online market. In 2011 our professional team has expanded, and since then we are working as an independent business unit.

Our technical background is ensured by our own-developed data management system, that is continuously developing considering the needs of the online market research.

For our surveys we use our online database built specifically for online market research, that comprises more than 165 000 members.

The milestones in the history of ResearchCenter:

  • Since 2003: Under the aegis of Hírek Média our professionals are offering online data collection for clients abroad.
  • January, 2007: ResearchCenter becomes an independent business division within Hírek Média
  • March, 2007: We joined ESOMAR. The membership represents our commitment to high-level research.
  • January, 2008: We closed an outstanding year. Our profit doubled compared to the previous year.
  • February, 2008: The first E-JobSearch Report has been published that monitors the habits of online job search and related attitudes.
  • March, 2008: We introduced our first branded research called E-Shopping Report that monitors the relationships between the traditional and online shopping habits and also the attitudes towards them.
  • April, 2008: Monddmeg.hu; an opinion leader social site has been launched. With the help of the website’s registered users ResearchCenter can conduct quicksurveys in just a few days in a very cost effective way.
  • September, 2008: As an acknowledgement of our professional work, ReseachCenter is accepted in the Hungarian Association of Market Research Organizations. By becoming a member we hope to be able to participate more actively at professional forums, while the association is expecting the strengthening of the online research methods in Hungary.
  • December, 2008: Our annual research focusing on the habits of internet usage in Hungarian households is carried out for the first time, in which MASMI Hungary Market Research Institute is our professional partner. Also our research series, focusing on the tyre-usage and purchase habits has been launched in this same month.
  • December 2008: The number of members in our research panel reaches 75,000. Also, in order to ensure quality data collection, further development of our own-developed data management system takes place.
  • September, 2009: Supported by Direct Marketing Association we launch a unique survey that examines the general e-mail usage habits and the attitudes towards permission based direct marketing.
  • January, 2010: We launch a medical research series cooperating with Hazipatika.com. Within the frames of this cooperation, our first survey examines the market of painkillers in Hungary.
  • January, 2010: We start to cooperate with the magazine Marketing & Media. As a part of this cooperation, we conduct surveys monthly on actual topics that interest the public.
  • November, 2010: The number of members in our research panel exceeds 115,000. Meanwhile several improvements have been completed, which beyond the security of the respondents also helps to improve the user experience.
  • January, 2011: ResearchCenter becomes an independent firm: Corporate image and website have been renewed in this process.
